Our Key Initiatives
Protecting Wrington
Safeguarding Our Village from Inappropriate Development
Keep Wrington as Wrington is a community-led group working to protect the village, its countryside, heritage, roads, landscape and rural setting from inappropriate development.
Wrington is a vibrant community with a population of approximately 2,573 residents. The village is now facing significant pressure from large-scale planning applications and development proposals which could affect its character, place additional strain on narrow local roads, and increase pressure on local infrastructure and services.
Current Priorities
KWAW is currently focused on:
Monitoring and responding to the current Butts Batch planning application.
Monitoring and responding to the current Cox’s Green planning application.
Following the North Somerset Local Plan 2041 examination process.
Helping residents understand how to submit clear, relevant planning comments.
Sharing factual updates so residents can stay informed and make their views heard.
Community Engagement
Our residents are deeply invested in protecting the future of Wrington.
Active Facebook Community: Over 330 members regularly engage in discussions, share updates and support community action.
Dedicated Working Party: A committed Working Party leads the group’s work, reviews planning information, liaises with relevant local bodies and helps coordinate community responses.
Get Involved
If you are concerned about inappropriate development in Wrington, please stay informed, join the conversation and take the time to submit your own comments on current planning applications.
Every clear, well considered comment helps show the strength of local concern.
